Agrelo is a small region located in the Luján de Cuyo department of Mendoza, Argentina. It is characterized by its clay soils and its altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level, close to the Andes Mountains, where the grapes ripen slowly, developing intense aromatic compounds. It is considered one of the premium regions in Mendoza for the production of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, which express intense flavors of black fruit and violets, with structured yet silky tannins. These characteristics have led to its reputation as "The Birthplace of Argentine Malbec."
